Ceylon Black Tea - Nuwara Eliya
More about this item ....
Ceylon is fresh, bright, and slightly fruity and floral. It brews to a light golden red and is enjoyed best on its own (without milk or spices). At over 6000 feet, the Nuwara Eliya region boasts some of the finest tea gardens in Sri Lanka, and this tea is a fine example. It is very smooth with a lightly sweet and distinct fruity essence.
Ceylon tea refers to tea grown on the island of Sri Lanka, which was known as Ceylon before independence in 1972. The Ceylon tea industry began in the mid-1800s, when a fungus wiped out the entirety of the island's coffee crops. Generally, Ceylon tea boasts a crisp aroma with hints of citrus, and is used in many blended teas. It is grown on numerous estates which vary in altitude and therefore taste. Our Ceylons are of the highest grades available.
